Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain outlasted defending champion Kiki Bertens of the Netherlands 6-4, 4-6, 6-3 in the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix SAR on Friday.
The unseeded Spaniard will next face Mandy Minella of Luxembourg, who edged Silvia Soler-Espinosa of Spain 6-3, 3-6, 6-3.
Bertens double-faulted nine times in a match which saw 20 breaks of serve.
In the other quarterfinal, Minella broke for a 5-3 lead in the third set to reach her first semifinal since the Gastein Ladies in Austria last June.

Mandy Minella of Luxembourg and Lourdes Dominguez Lino of Spain rallied from a set down against seeded players to reach the Grand Prix SAR quarterfinals Thursday.
Minella beat fourth-seeded Kaia Kanepi of Estonia 3-6, 6-4, 6-3, and Dominguez Lino defeated ninth-seeded Tsvetana Pironkova of Bulgaria 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 in a match that included seven breaks of serve for each player.
Francesca Schiavone beat South African Chanelle Scheepers 7-6 (4), 6-1 Saturday to set up a Grand Prix SAR final against Lourdes Dominguez Lino, who overcame a slow start to beat Luxembourg's Mandy Minella 2-6, 6-0, 6-1.
Schiavone broke Scheepers' serve three times in the second set, where the sixth-seeded Italian saved two break points on her own serve.
