Statement from US Open Tournament Referee Brian Earley on David Nalbandian’s withdraw from the 2012 US Open in singles and doubles   “David Nalbandian has withdrawn from both singles and doubles at the 2012 US Open.  His place in the singles, scheduled as the third match in Louis Armstrong Stadium on Wednesday, will be taken a lucky loser determined at 10:30AM on Wednesday.   The doubles team of David Nalbandian and Eduardo Schwank will be replaced by an alternate team at the same time and will be scheduled to play on Wednesday as well.”  

Nalbandian pulls out of US Open singles, doubles

David Nalbandian pulled out of the U.S. Open on Tuesday, a day before he was scheduled to play 2009 champion Juan Martin del Potro in an all-Argentine matchup in the first round of singles.
