Serena Williams won her fifth Wimbledon title Saturday, beating Agnieszka Radwanska of Poland 6-1, 5-7, 6-2 on Centre Court.

Williams, 30, claimed her 14th major championship with a backhand on match point, she climbed into the stands to hug her father, sister Venus, who is also a five-time Wimbledon champion, and their mother among others.

Williams looked like a champion from the beginning as she broke her own tournament record twice with 23 aces against Jie Zheng in the third round and 24 against Victoria Azarenka in the semifinals. On Saturday, she finished with 17 aces for a overall tournament record of 102.

Williams is also the first woman in her 30s to win a Wimbledon title since Martina Navratilova did in 1990 at the age of 33.

This was Williams first Grand Slam title since winning the All England Club two years ago.

Serena Williams Advances To Wimbledon Finals, Can Beat You Up

Serena Williams and Agnieszka Radwanska (uh, what?) will face off in the finals of Wimbeldon. It’s been a hell of a fortnight if I do say so myself. Is there a more intimidating woman in sports right now? I guess Brittney Griner, but that’s purely based on height and that sucker punch she threw a couple years back. If you lock Griner in the octagon with Serena it wouldn’t...

Serena finds comfort in fifth title

This was not just more of the same for Serena Williams, another Wimbledon, another championship. No, what's lost is that this was a great comeback story for her. Two years ago, she won Wimbledon and seemed unbeatable. Since then, she had been beaten down. A foot injury followed by life-threatening blood clots in her lungs. Then, lost confidence followed by lost composure. Her...
