WTA Warsaw Day 2 Predictions Including Karolina Muchova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich
Main Photo Credit: Susan Mullane-USA TODAY Sports

Karolina Muchova is the second seed at the WTA 250 in Warsaw and will be hoping to get another shot at Iga Swiatek in Sunday’s final. The tournament is just starting though and the two still need to beat plenty of dangerous opponents to get there. That’s especially relevant in Muchova’s case as she’s about to take on Aliaksandra Sasnovich. Who do you think will advance?

WTA Warsaw Day 2 Predictions

Xiyu Wang vs Lin Zhu

Head-to-head: Zhu 3-1

Lin Zhu won three of their four previous meetings, one of them in the opening round at Hua Hin earlier this year. She went on to claim her maiden WTA Tour title at that event and is still going strong with a Birmingham final recently. They’ve also played in Warsaw already with Xiyu Wang coming out on top along with Linda Noskova against Shuai Zhang/Zhu in doubles. The 22-year-old might actually have a good shot here, mostly as the courts are rather slow and won’t suit Zhu’s flatter hitting.
Prediction: Wang in 3

Clara Tauson vs Daria Snigur

Head-to-head: First meeting

There’s not that much standing between Clara Tauson and becoming a top player, it’s just about the Dane’s health. It’s been a long journey back but after a third-round run at Roland Garros, the expectations are high again. This is an exciting matchup of two 2002-born players who won junior Grand Slams back in 2019. Comparing what they have shown us in the pros so far, Tauson has to be regarded as the favorite, but it’s not like Snigur isn’t an exciting prospect.
Prediction: Tauson in 2

Karolina Muchova vs Aliaksandra Sasnovich

Head-to-head: First meeting

This is a pretty amazing opening-round matchup. Since finishing runner-up at Roland Garros, Karolina Muchova has only played one match, losing right away at Wimbledon to Jule Niemeier. While this certainly hasn’t been Aliaksandra Sasnovich’s best season of her career, the Belarusian has been at the top for ages and has that redline quality that can allow you to produce big upsets. Muchova will need to be ready for a tough battle in Warsaw right away.
Prediction: Muchova in 3
