Fans Accuse Bandai for being Lazy with Tekken 8 Shop Items

There are new items in the Tekken 8 Shop after Bandai Namco dropped the latest 1.04.oo update. One of the notable items recently released in the shop features Lili’s classic Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection outfit. While nostalgia keeps coming to the shop with every update, fans aren’t thrilled with how the items were rendered.

Fans Complain About Lili’s Classic Outfit

A Lili fan on X (formerly known as Twitter) recently posted their rants about the reimagined Tekken 5: Dark Ressurection outfit. The fan expressed disappointment with how poorly designed the classic outfit is on the Tekken 8 Shop. They specified how Lili’s old dress should’ve been thinner and should fit perfectly to her body’s shape. The player pointed out that the dress should be subtly see-through and not just purely white. They compared the current render, which looks bland from their perspective, to the Dark Ressurection render, which looks classier and shows more skin.

Fans are now accusing Bandai Namco of being lazy with their item shop releases. They dislike the fact that they have to pay approximately $5 for a classic skin that the developers don’t even bother upgrading visually. Most of the textures look reused and have a coat of shiny material to make it seem brand new.

Another fan on X called out Bandai for making Lili’s classic outfit look like a bad mod. They posted a picture of Lili’s PSP render and while the graphics may look outdated, there were still details to the design. The fan pointed out how the newer model no longer features the delicate lace towards the skirt portion. They also dislike the fact that the sleeves seem too short in the modern version. Everything about the classic outfit looks rushed in Tekken 8.

Tekken 8 Director Katsuhiro Harada recently addressed the complaints and replied to one of the fans’ tweets. Harada mentioned he’s aware of the issue and found it weird how the laces aren’t included in the design. He then promised to request his team to add them in a quick patch.

Harada is doing his best to keep the player base happy, however, it doesn’t take away the fact that these minor details matter to fans. Despite the latest Tekken 8 patch aiming to save the game, it’s the little things that the developers miss that could keep fans from playing.

Other New Tekken 8 Shop Items

While Lili’s classic Dark Ressurection skin is a disaster among fans, Bandai Namco launched a couple of new outfit packs for players to enjoy hopefully. The Tekken 8 Shop now features the Ninja and Shinobi Packs. One might ask what the difference is. The Ninja Pack can only be equipped by male characters while the Shinobi Pack is targeted toward female characters. Both outfit packs cost approximately $5 each.

Here’s a full list of what each pack contains:
