Jey Uso discloses major reason behind Rikishi not being part of WrestleMania 40 match against Jimmy Uso
Joe Camporeale-USA TODAY Sports

WrestleMania XL saw two brothers tear it down to settle their personal differences. Jey Uso took on his brother Jimmy Uso in a grudge match. Many fans thought that their father, Rikishi, was somehow going to make an appearance in the match. However, that wasn’t the case, as the WWE Hall of Famer was nowhere around. Now, ‘Main Event Jey’ has finally disclosed the reason behind his father not showing up.

Speaking to Alex McCarthy of MailOnline, the former Bloodline member stated that he actually wished Rikishi could become part of his match with Jimmy. However, considering his health, it never became a reality. The 38-year-old admitted the possibility of the WWE Hall of Famer being the referee. He explained that referees need to be fit and fine as they have to perform various physical activities throughout the match.

Hell yeah, I always wanted my dad involved, whether it be a referee... I just don't think my dad could have kept up, just getting up and down, because referees, they're doing like, push up burpees the whole match too, they're getting a great workout Jey Uso told Alex McCarthy

Rikishi couldn’t become a referee, as such moments would not be possible at his age and condition. Although the former Tag Team Champion wanted him to appear in his storyline for a promo or segment, that wouldn’t have made sense with the said storyline. Jimmy Uso and Jey Uso gave their best to have an epic Brother vs. Brother showdown at WrestleMania, but due to a lack of storytelling, they failed to make any impact.

With that being said, fans should never pencil out the possibility of seeing Rikishi in the storyline. As it goes, the Bloodline Saga is not close to the end yet. Several layers and chapters still remain to be explored. Therefore, there is always a possibility of the return of the former champion.

WWE might put a halt to Jey Uso’s singles push as per Bully Ray

Jey Uso has been on a roll lately. His exponential rise to the top is one to be studied. The former Bloodline member has established a unique connection with the WWE universe. However, it seems like WWE is on its way to put a halt to this mega push soon, as per Bully Ray.

Speaking on Busted Open Radio, the WWE Hall of Famer stated that sooner than later, Jey is going to reunite with his brother Jimmy Uso. Therefore, it is likely that WWE will stop somewhere with this mega-push to indulge him in the Bloodline Saga once again.

[I have a feeling that eventually, we're gonna see Jimmy and Jey Uso back together again.] And this is why the push might be to a certain level. They might be going: 'All right, we're gonna get him right to here. But then we're gonna stop it because the plan is to get them back together for The Bloodline story, which will take precedent over Jey Uso getting over on his own Bully Ray on Busted Open

Keeping Ray’s opinion in mind, there has been some hate against Uso all over the internet. Ever since he defeated Ilja Dragunov clean, there has been a small portion of fans who are disappointed with Main Event Jey. Therefore, WWE might change their direction of pushing up the former Bloodline member on the card. Only time will tell what’s going to happen with him. As of now, he is going to face Gunther next week on Raw to qualify for the finals of the King of the Ring tournament.
