Styles around until Bound For Glory:
PWInsider.com is reporting that AJ Styles has agreed to a short term contract until a week or so past Bound For Glory, while both sides continue negotiations.
This will obviously make or break Styles World title redemption storyline.
Hogan says TNA is number one overseas:
Earlier this week Hulk Hogan told Rover’s Morning Glory that TNA is number one overseas…
“The company I’m with, Impact Wrestling, they’re the number one company overseas. All through Europe and Australia, the numbers are crazy and we’re pushing really hard here in the States.”
Impact often draws higher ratings than WWE in the UK because it’s on Freeview and WWE programming is on a Sky paid subscription platform. WWE still draws higher live event numbers, and if you include all of WWE’s programming they still probably have more exposure.
Hogan also discussed the difficulties with ratings today because of the TV industry dying, and how wrestling has to adapt…
“What I’ve noticed mostly is things move so fast, the universe is getting so big. There are so many choices with satellite, cable, reality TV, social media, people switch gears so much that things have to move faster. Like if you and I were to start an argument right now, [in the past] we’d probably wrestle a year from now and blow the thing off. Well now, if we start an argument we’ll probably wrestle by the end of the hour. You have to most faster, it’s just the business has changed.”
Impact audience numbers:
This week’s episode of TNA Impact Wrestling drew an average audience of 1.243 million viewers on Spike TV, slightly down from the previous week.
