Canelo Alvarez believes he already has the low-down on the game plan incoming foe Terence Crawford is likely to utilize when they meet this month.

Putting his undisputed super middleweight crown on the line, Canelo Alvarez is tasked with inflicting the first loss of Terence Crawford’s gleaming career in the ring.

And receiving stark criticizm for his last performance in his undisputed title fight win over William Scull amid their lacklustre clash, Canelo was offered a rather interesting challenge by Crawford.

However, this time around, Canelo believes he won’t face the same issues with Crawford as he did with Cuban star Scull.

Canelo Alvarez breaks down Terence Crawford’s game plan

Criticized heavily for the lack of activity and forward motion in his undisputed title fight with Scull, Canelo is not expecting that same problem in his return to Las Vegas.

In fact, the Mexican is expecting the opposite — claiming Crawford is likely set to bring an aggressive approach to their super middleweight title fight.

“To have a good fight, you need both fighters,” Canelo told The Ring. “Boxing is; you throw, you get in there and move — move your ways. Move around a little bit, but throw punches. Getting there, that’s boxing.

“…Like with what we saw with (William) Scull, like running and running, that’s not the kind of fight you want, right?” Canelo explained. “And it’s very difficult to close that and everything.

“I think (Terence) Crawford is not that kind of fighter. He’s different. He boxes.”

And it’s the fact that Crawford is such a forward-pressing fighter which led to a recent cryptic prediction from the challenger regarding his fight with Canelo.

Terence Crawford assessed potential stoppage win over Canelo Alvarez

Himself coming under fire for his lacklustre win over Israil Madrimov back in August of last year, Crawford had been forced the distance for the first time since his infamous 2016 win over Ukrainian star Viktor Postol.

However, paired with his knowledge of Canelo’s past struggles in the ring earlier in his career, and his own knockout ability, Crawford claimed a stoppage win was not out of the realm of possibility come September 13.

“You know, Canelo (Alvarez) got a granite chin,” Crawford told Fight Hype. “He’s been hurt before. But you know, he has been hit cleanly and took it real well.

“You know, anything is possible,” Crawford teased.
