LAS VEGAS — Five months after their original date fell apart, Sebastian Fundora and Keith Thurman are finally set to meet. Premier Boxing Champions announced Monday that Fundora will defend his WBC junior middleweight title against Thurman in the main event of a Prime Video pay-per-view on March 28 at MGM Grand Garden Arena. PBC also confirmed a kickoff press conference Wednesday at Avalon Hollywood, scheduled for 4 p.m. ET / 1 p.m. PT.
Fundora and Thurman were originally slated to fight on Oct. 25, but Fundora was forced to withdraw two weeks out due to a hand injury, shelving one of the more intriguing style clashes in the 154-pound division.
Now healthy, Fundora (23-1-1, 15 KOs) enters as The Ring’s No. 2-ranked junior middleweight. Nicknamed “The Towering Inferno,” the 6-foot-5½ southpaw is coming off a seventh-round stoppage of Tim Tszyu in their July 19 rematch.
The 28-year-old has won three straight since suffering the lone loss of his career a seventh-round knockout to Brian Mendoza in 2023.

Thurman (31-1, 23 KOs) is seeking a world title in a second weight class, but he’ll do so after yet another extended layoff. The former unified welterweight champion hasn’t fought since scoring a third-round knockout of Brock Jarvis in March of last year.
The 37-year-old Clearwater, Florida, native has competed just twice since his split-decision loss to Manny Pacquiao in 2019. In his only other appearance during that stretch, Thurman outpointed Mario Barrios by unanimous decision in 2022.
