Miles Byrd was back to his usual playmaking self and BJ Davis had another outstanding game off the bench for the San Diego State Aztecs, who beat Lamar 88-71 for their second straight win and third in four games. Byrd capped his team-high 19 points with a 3-pointer, a steal and a dunk on consecutive possessions.
San Diego State made 67.2% of its shots in a 97-80 rout of Oregon on Tuesday at the Players Era men's basketball tournament in Las Vegas. The Aztecs (3-2) got 22 points from Reese Dixon-Waters on 9-of-13 shooting, plus 21 points off the bench on 6-of-7 shooting from BJ Davis.
