Utah Utes football standouts Levani Damuni and Michael Mokofisi have been named to the preseason watch list for the 2025 Comeback Player of the Year Award, the College Sports Communicators and Associated Press announced on Tuesday.
During Monday’s press conference, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham shared significant news about two key players, linebacker Levani Damuni and cornerback Kenan Johnson.
The loss of Levani Damuni for the season is devastating for the entire team on the field and in the locker room. Damuni led the team in tackles during the 2023 season, racking up 87 total tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and .5 sacks.
The Utes are retaining a veteran presence on defense for one more year to the delight of the program, players, and fans alike. The Stanford transfer previously spent 4 years with the Cardinal before moving back home to Utah for the 2023 season.
