While on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Adam Scott commented on fans connecting his Parks and Rec and Severance characters. "So there are clues there in things that you said to Leslie on the show that somehow apply to Severance," the late-night host explained, referring to the Reddit theory.
Scott portrayed Ben Wyatt in Parks and Recreation, which came to an end in 2015 after seven seasons. Amy Poehler starred as Leslie Knope. The actor has heard the theory before, agreeing, "It actually is pretty close. The thing my character was sort of pitching to Leslie does sound sort of like Severance."
However, he does confirm that is just a coincidence.
He also admitted that he told his wife some spoilers because "there were some really juicy details and I knew I would have to keep them secret for two or three years." So which secrets did he share? Helena being undercover as Helly. His wife didn't actually want to hear it, but Scott insisted she would forget by the time the episodes were released. Spoiler alert: she did not forget.
Severance is even the first project that his kids are interested in.

The season 2 finale premiered last night and the Apple TV+ series has already been renewed for a third season. Ben Stiller has already promised that season 3 will not take another three years. "No, no, the plan is not — definitely not," the director and executive producer said on the New Heights podcast. "No, the plan is not, and hopefully, we’ll be announcing what the plan is very soon. That will not be that."
Along with Scott, the cast includes Britt Lower, Tramell Tillman, Zach Cherry, Jen Tullock, Michael Chernus, Dichen Lachman, John Turturro, Christopher Walken, Patricia Arquette, Sarah Bock, and Ólafur Darri Ólafsson.
