20 TV characters people have major beef with
They’re fictional, so what’s the problem? How many TV fanatics have heard that before? The chances are a lot because, while television is the entertainment gift that keeps giving, it can also be a pain in the you-know-what when a character from a great show rubs you the wrong way. It’s not even that rare of an occurrence either because there have been plenty throughout the years, but the following are the most annoying TV characters people have had major beef with for various reasons.
King Joffrey, 'Game of Thrones'
There were plenty of characters in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones to be mad at throughout its eight seasons, but none quite ruffled fans’ feathers like the irritable ways of King Joffrey.
Cousin Oliver, 'The Brady Bunch'
The Brady Bunch already came through with a huge ensemble: six kids, two parental figures, Alice, and her man. Cousin Oliver wasn’t necessary, and fans made it clear from his arrival that they were ready for him to turn right back around to wherever he came from.
Walden Schmidt, 'Two and a Half Men'
When Charlie Sheen exited Two and a Half Men , the show should have hung it up. Instead, CBS decided to push forward and replace Sheen with Ashton Kutcher. Yes, Kutcher has his comedic charm, but his Walden Schmidt shook up the dynamic fans were used to on the show and never quite managed to win over those who continued to watch.
Kimmy Gibbler, 'Full House'
The ‘80s and ‘90s loved putting nuisance next door, and while one stands atop this trope as its fearless leader, one can’t count out Kimmy Gibbler from Full House. She was a pain for many fans. However, she did get some redemption when Fuller House dropped on Netflix in 2016.
The Governor, 'The Walking Dead'
The Walking Dead had a lot of villains come and go, and while Negan debuted with one of the most talked about episodes of the series, fans can’t deny that there was something a heck of a lot more sinister about the way The Governor moved about life in the apocalypse.
Frank Mitchell, 'Moesha'
When Moesha found its way to streaming, it unleashed a realization for fans: Frank Mitchell was too much.
Nate Jacobs, 'Euphoria'
Jacob Elordi is great, but his character on HBO’s Euphoria needs to have the police called on him.
Angelica Pickles, 'Rugrats'
‘90s kids still refer to bratty children as "Angelica" for good reason.
Ted Mosby, 'How I Met Your Mother'
This man wasted not only his kids’ lives with his long-winded story but his fans’ lives as well.
Richard Hendricks, 'Silicon Valley'
Richard Hendricks was a genius in the tech world on Silicon Valley, but when it came to common sense and decision-making, he could be insanely frustrating to watch week to week.
Archie Andrews, 'Riverdale'
This has nothing to do with Archie’s character and everything to do with that horrible plotline about his musical aspirations from the beginning of the series. Everyone else in that town was going through something, and all Archie had was some nerves about a talent show.
Molly Carter, 'Insecure'
There were times throughout Insecure when Molly didn’t seem like she was the best friend she could be to Issa, and that did not sit well with fans.
Cory Matthews, 'Boy Meets World'
Cory Matthews really just sat there and didn’t push his girl to go to her dream college.
Lee Russell, 'Vice Principals'
While Neal Gamby was just as devious as Lee Russell, Gamby still had some compassion for his job. Oh, and Lee did have those psychopathic tendencies that shined a little too bright.
Zack Morris, 'Saved by the Bell'
There is a sector of the population that truly believes Zack Morris is trash for a myriad of reasons, from cultural appropriation to how he handled his relationships and friendships.
Piper Chapman, 'Orange is the New Black'
Orange is the New Black featured such a wondrous array of characters with stories that always managed to make fans' hearts break into a million little pieces. Then, there was Piper Chapman.
Jim Halpert, 'The Office'
Jim and Pam are one of the most beloved and revered TV couples of all time. However, fans who’ve watched the series repeatedly have noticed that Jim’s kind of, well, not that nice. He’s constantly on Dwight with the pranks, can be a bit of a bummer around the office when he’s in a mood, and let’s not forget how he treated Pam when he lied about taking a job in Philly.
Frank Gallagher, 'Shameless'
Frank Gallagher is one of the most infuriating TV dads of all time.
Steve Urkel, 'Family Matters'
Steve Urkel is one of the most recognizable characters in TV history, but when you think about it…it would be incredibly maddening to have a neighbor pop up in your home all the time with random science experiments.
Rachel Berry, 'Glee'
It’s not bad to want to be the best, but the level of energy Rachel Berry had about it was exhausting.
