Angela Kinsey and Jenna Fischer took a trip down memory lane by visiting the set of The Office spin-off. She recently reunited with former co-stars Kate Flannery, Brian Baumgartner, Oscar Nuñez, Ellie Kemper, and Creed Bratton on Today to celebrate the beloved comedy's 20th anniversary, where she spoke about the experience.
"Jenna and I stopped by set. [Co-creator] Greg [Daniels] had invited us," she shared. "We showed up, and not only was Oscar there, but our crew, so many of these wonderful people — cause the crew was our extended family, and we’re still really close with them. And that was really moving to see."
According to Deadline, the show "reintroduces the documentary crew that immortalized Dunder Mifflin’s Scranton branch as they search for a new subject when they discover a historic Midwestern newspaper and the publisher trying to revive it."
Back in February, it was announced that Nuñez would be reprising his original role in the follow-up, which is rumored to be called The Paper.
He explained that the series is still in "editing" but "more will be revealed" soon. "It’s very, very exciting [to return]," he commented. Production began in July.
Domhnall Gleeson, Sabrina Impacciatore, Chelsea Frei, Melvin Gregg, Gbemisola Ikumelo, Alex Edelman, Ramona Young, and Tim Key make up the rest of the cast. Guest stars include Eric Rahill, Duane Shepard Sr., Allan Havey, Nate Jackson, Mo Welch, Nancy Lenehan, Molly Ephraim, and Tracy Letts.
Gleeson previously worked with Steve Carell, who starred as Michael Scott, on The Patient. During an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Carell said, "He’s an excellent actor. And he actually called me and asked, you know, ‘Should I do this? Is this something… Did you enjoy it?’ I said, of course."
The Office is streaming on Peacock.
