Disney+ drops new trailer, poster, and premiere date for season 2 of 'Percy Jackson and the Olympians'

Brace yourself, Percy Jackson and the Olympians fans: we got some exciting updates at San Diego Comic-Con today, including season 2's official premiere date, casting news, a trailer, and a poster featuring our favorite trio!

Season two of “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” is based on the second installment of Disney Hyperion’s best-selling book series titled “The Sea of Monsters” by award-winning author Rick Riordan. In the new season, Percy Jackson returns to Camp Half-Blood one year later to find his world turned upside down. His friendship with Annabeth is changing, he learns he has a cyclops for a brother, Grover has gone missing, and camp is under siege from the forces of Kronos. Percy’s journey to set things right will take him off the map and into the deadly Sea of Monsters, where a secret fate awaits the son of Poseidon.

Returning stars include Walker Scobell as Percy, Leah Sava Jeffries as Annabeth, Aryan Simhadri as Grover, Charlie Bushnell as Luke, and Dior Goodjohn as Clarisse.

It was previously announced that Daniel Diemer would be joining as Tyson, but today, we found out that Levi Chrisopulos is playing Nico di Angelo, while Olive Abercrombie is taking on the role of Bianca di Angelo.

So what can fans expect from this upcoming season? "This is not a road trip across America in Greyhound buses and stopping at diners and the St. Louis Arch — they sail off the map, straight into the Sea of Monsters, which doesn't exist," executive producer Craig Silverstein told Entertainment Weekly. "We had to create it at all. We had to make it even bigger."

Percy Jackson and the Olympians will be back on December 10, only on Disney+. The series has also been renewed for a third season with production already underway.
