Fox cancels 'The Cleaning Lady' and 'Alert: Missing Persons Unit'

Fox has made the decision to cancel Alert: Missing Persons Unit and The Cleaning Lady heading into the 2025-26 season. Alert: Missing Persons Unit concluded its third season on May 27, while The Cleaning Lady's fourth season came to an end on June 3.

Alert: Missing Persons Unit was a procedural drama that followed the Philadelphia Police Department’s Missing Persons Unit.

Each episode features a heart-pounding, life-or-death search for a missing person headed by detectives Jason Grant and Nikki Batista. Together with the MPU team, their job is to find the missing or abducted and reunite them with their loved ones.

The series starred Scott Caan, Dania Ramirez, Adeola Role, Ryan Broussard, and Alisha-Marie Ahamed. Ramirez's character, Nikki Batista, was killed off in season 3.

The Cleaning Lady was the first Southeast Asian-led broadcast drama, which makes the loss even more significant. The cast included Élodie Yung, Khalen Roman Sanchez, Santiago Cabrera, Kate Del Castillo, Martha Millan, Sean Lew, Faith Bryant, and Adan Canto.

The Cleaning Lady continues its exploration of the experience of undocumented immigrants and the hurdles they face in this country. The series tells their stories of resourcefulness in the face of institutional adversity and the sacrifices they must make to achieve their American dream.

This now leaves just Accused and The Great North up for renewal or cancellation. "We love the show and Howard Gordon. As you know, it’s anthological, which means it doesn’t have the same timetable on renewals as shows that have locked casts," Michael Thorn, President of Fox Television Network, said about the former. "And so right now, we’re talking with Howard if there’s an opportunity down the line to eventize a return, something that can really work for us and Howard, we’d love to do it. Right now. there’s no plan but there could be down the line."
