There’s no denying that Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO are one of country music’s biggest (and refreshingly candid) power couples. From chart-topping songs to personal struggles, they’ve never shied away from sharing their lives with their fans. But now, things just got a lot more personal. The couple is expecting a new addition to their family, and unlike typical celebrity pregnancies splashed across tabloids, they’ve decided to handle it in their own unfiltered, yet quiet way.
Bunnie XO recently revealed through her podcast, Dumb Blonde, that she and hubs Jelly Roll have been on a challenging IVF path to grow their family. And while everyone loves an Instagram-worthy pregnancy announcement, they’ve made it clear that this time, it’s going to be private. How private, you ask? They plan on keeping the baby’s arrival under wraps for about six months, give or take! That’s right, don’t expect any chic newborn photoshoots or overly-filtered baby bump reveals.
Bunnie shared, “Everybody knows that I’ve done it [IVF]. They just don’t know when we’re going to have the baby,” adding they’re set on protecting this sacred moment from the invasion of prying eyes. And truly, who can blame them? It’s a bold move in a world where privacy feels like a mythical unicorn.
Bunnie XO also revealed the fortuitous news on her social media saying:
When you got the call you’ve been waiting on for 5 months since this IVF journey started. All the tears, the hopelessness & the struggle, God finally said, ‘Here.’
The couple’s choice to use a surrogate stems from Bunnie’s previous medical complications. “I’ve had two ectopic pregnancies, so I just can’t risk it. I’m too high risk,” she opened up, giving fans a rare glimpse of the hurdles they’ve had to overcome.
But in true Bunnie XO fashion, she’s got nothing but love and admiration for their surrogate, whom she describes as “absolutely beautiful and ready.”
The plan? If all goes well, Baby DeFord will be making their debut sometime in the year 2026, proving once again that Jelly and Bunnie aren’t afraid to take the unconventional road.
Currently, she has been staying out of the public eye, working with her doctors and medical professionals. She has been busy ensuring that they have the best treatment options possible and is preparing fully for her anticipated little bundle of joy.
It’s no surprise that this milestone has lit a fire under Jelly Roll to prioritize his health. During an appearance on Bussin’ With The Boys, he opened up about losing over 200 pounds in preparation for fatherhood. His goal? Drop another 100 pounds so he can go skydiving in Sweden with Bunnie XO. (Skydiving? Seriously, this guy doesn’t do anything halfway.)
Jelly Roll and Bunnie XO already share a blended family, with Jelly’s two children, Bailee and Noah, from his previous relationships. But this new chapter represents their first child together, and it’s clear they’re putting in the work—not just in the baby department, but in making sure they’re both around for a long time to see every milestone.
When most celebs treat pregnancy announcements like marketing campaigns, Jelly Roll and Bunnie’s approach feels refreshingly real. This isn’t about flaunting a picture-perfect life; it’s about showing that even under the harsh spotlight, you can keep parts of your life sacred. They’ve morphed their saga into a source of hope, inspiration, and definitely motivation, not just for themselves but for any of their fans who might be facing similar challenges.
