Jelly Roll Just Hit a Number On the Scale He Never Thought He’d See Again

Jelly Roll has officially reached a milestone that’s been decades in the making—and no, we’re not talking about stepping into the WWE ring next month (although yes, that’s also happening).

The country star, rapper, and now full-on fitness convert revealed this week that he’s closing in on a goal weight he hasn’t seen since middle school: under 300 pounds. And for someone who says he’s been over it since his early teens, it’s a full-circle moment and not just some regular gym progress.

“I got fat, like, really, really young,” he said on Stephanie McMahon’s podcast What’s Your Story? “I was over 300 pounds coming out of middle school.” Fast forward thirty years, and now Jelly Roll’s aiming to step into SummerSlam, his very first wrestling match, under that number for the first time in decades.

And honestly? He’s earning it.

In the last year, Jelly’s shifted into full beast mode. We're talking two to three miles a day, personal trainers, ice baths, sauna sessions, 5Ks, and even a skydiving goal with his wife (in Sweden, no less). He’s already dropped close to 200 pounds and wants to lose another hundred. Not for the camera. Not for the scale. For himself.

He’s been open about the fact that weight loss hasn’t been linear, easy, or glamorous. It’s work—sweaty, sore, frustrating, life-changing work. And he’s putting that work in out loud, which is probably why so many fans are rooting for him harder than ever.

So yeah, the number might not seem like a headline-worthy thing to some people. But when you’ve been carrying it for thirty years? When it’s been tattooed to your self-image and used as a punchline by others? Hitting that goal is more personal release than just your average weight loss story.

Jelly Roll saw a number he never thought he’d see again, and he earned every damn pound under it.
