It’s safe to say Scarlett Johansson is a Jurassic Park fan.
Previously confirmed as one of the leads in Jurassic World 4, she’s now commented on its script for the first time. "The script is so incredible," Johansson tells ComicBook.
"David Koepp wrote it. He returned after like 30 years to write the script. He's so passionate about it, which is so awesome." Koepp joins another Jurassic Park alumni, director Stephen Spielberg, who returns in a co-producer capacity.
As for who’s wrangling all those dinosaurs? There was a rumor the Deadpool director will helm Jurassic World 4 in David Leitch, but instead, it’s The Creator director Gareth Edwards.
It’s clear Universal is aiming to recover some of the cultural clout lost by 2022’s Jurassic World: Dominion, which grossed $600 million less than 2015’s Jurassic World and $300 million less than 2018’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Its review scores also dropped massively, with a franchise low of 29% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Nonetheless, "I'm an enormous Jurassic Park fan,” continued Johansson. “It's one of the first films I remember seeing in the theater. I remember seeing it so vividly. It was like life-changing. It was mind-blowing. I cannot express how excited I am."
