The latest Yorgos Lanthimos film is heading to Cannes next month, where it'll premiere in competition alongside over 20 other titles, including new films from Francis Ford Coppola, David Cronenberg, Andrea Arnold, Sean Baker and Paul Schrader.
Kinds of Kindness stars Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Willem Dafoe, Margaret Qualley, Hong Chau, Joe Alwyn, Mamoudou Athie and Hunter Schafer and is described as "a triptych fable", following three characters on different paths.
During an episode of Vanity Fair's Little Gold Men podcast, one of the hosts says they heard Kinds of Kindness described as "hostile" and "an aggressive film" that is "probably more like his earlier work than Poor Things".
The official synopsis reads: A man seeks to break free from his predetermined path, a cop questions his wife's demeanor after her return from a supposed drowning and a woman's quest to locate an extraordinary individual prophesied to become a renowned spiritual guide.
It has now been revealed that the film's run time will be two hours and 44 minutes, making it the longest film in Lanthimos' filmography.
Following its Cannes premiere, Kinds of Kindness will head to theaters on June 28, 2024.
