Lifelong fan Nick Jonas wants to play Bruce Springsteen in a biopic

Nick Jonas' interview with Apple Music's Zane Lowe ended with the 28-year-old reverting to his early days of fanhood, detailing how much he has admired Bruce Springsteen since boyhood.

"Growing up in New Jersey, Bruce obviously has a special place in my heart and my creative life," Jonas said. "I'm so frustrated because I had the chance to go see him live when I was a lot younger. He was playing at Giants Stadium. My brothers and my dad went, but I couldn't go for some reason. It wasn't until about two years ago I got to go see him play in L.A., and it just was such an amazing experience and so inspiring to me as an artist and having been a lifelong fan."

And then Jonas got to the hook: "I'll just go ahead and say it hoping that it gets to right ears: it's a dream of mine to play him in a movie one day and tell his story in some way that would be honoring to him and that he could be involved with."

Earlier in the conversation, Jonas lauded Olivia Rodrigo's smash single "Drivers License" and touched on his day job as a coach on NBC's The Voice

The latter is not his first time on screen, as the "Jealous" crooner starred in Disney's Camp Rock franchise way back when before landing a role in 2019's Jumanji: The Next Level.  Jonas is still focusing on music, though, as his third solo studio album Spaceman was released Friday.

As for Springsteen, The Boss recently dropped a joint-podcast venture on Spotify with former President Barack Obama called Renegades: Born in the USA. In 2019, Springsteen spoke with MTV News and downplayed the possibility of a biopic: "It’s kind of something I’ve held off on because so few of them are successful. And finding someone to play yourself is really weird! It’s just been something I haven’t dove into. I don’t know if I will."

The material is there, and it was packaged in 2016 memoir Born to Run, which debuted atop the New York Times' bestseller list.
