Celebrities and sports have gone together like peanut butter and jam since the dawn of television. Some of entertainment's biggest stars are often seen attending sporting events, however, few do it as frequently as Snoop Dogg.
The legendary rapper hasn't been shy regarding his love for sports. From being a correspondent at the 2024 Paris Olympics openly declaring his Los Angeles Lakers fandom, Snoop has made it clear that he's one of the biggest sports fanatics in Hollywood today.
Lately, the multi-million record-selling musician has been focused on his recently released album, "Missionary." The 53-year-old's 20th studio album sees him team up with award-winning producer Dr. Dre in a way to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the ground-breaking "Doggystyle" album.
On Monday, Complex released a behind-the-scenes video about the new album's release. While music fans enjoyed hearing what Snoop and Dre had to say, sports lovers noticed the former supporting a certain NHL team: the Ottawa Senators.
In a clip shared by X user @big_business_, Snoop can be seen in the recording studio wearing a sweater that features a combination of the Senators and Death Row Records logo.

As jarring as it is to see Snoop wearing the Senators logo, his love for hockey isn't anything new.
In 2018, the "Still a G Thang" rapper hosted the "Hockey 101 with Snoop" segment on NHL.com, putting his own twist on explaining the sport's rules. He even provided commentary for EA Sports' NHL 20, in which he was also a playable character.
Having said that, the behind-the-scenes video wasn't the first time that the "Doggfather" was linked to Canada's capital city.
Back in 2023, Snoop was part of a Los Angeles-based group — which included R&B icon The Weeknd — that attempted to purchase the Senators. The group ultimately came up short in the end, losing to Canadian billionaire Michael Andlauer's bid.
So, if Snoop's bid to buy the Senators was unsuccessful, why was he wearing their logo?
Well, the answer is simple. The clip from Complex's documentary was reportedly filmed in March 2022 — one year before Snoop showed interest in purchasing the NHL franchise. It's possible that he was wearing the unofficial collaboration in preparation for his group's eventual formation.
Even if he isn't an actual Ottawa fan, seeing Snoop sporting the Senators logo is a cool sight.
Hockey isn't shown nearly as much attention as the other three 'Big Four' sports in North America. The fact that one of hip-hop's biggest stars was wearing a Canadian NHL team's logo shouldn't be ignored, even if his group's bid eventually fell short.
A legitimate fan of the sport, don't expect Snoop's hockey ties to end anytime soon.
