Ryan Reynolds: Beginning of relationship with Blake Lively 'out of a fairy tale'

Apparently, Ryan Reynolds's marriage to Blake Lively is somehow even more swoon-worthy than it looks.

The Deadpool star joined Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes and Will Arnett on their SmartLess podcast and blessed them with the story behind how he began dating Lively, which he described as "out of a fairy tale."

"I met Blake on the darkest crease in the anus of the universe called Green Lantern. And we were friends and buddies and then, about a year and a half later, we actually went out on a double date, but we were dating separate people. We hung out and kind of, you know, we always kind of kept in touch but sort of casually. And then next thing you know, she was going to Boston. I was going to Boston. So I was like, 'I’ll ride with you,'" Reynolds said. Then he joked, "We got on the train and rode together and then I was just begging her to sleep with me.

Green Lantern, a universally loathed superhero movie, was released in 2011. Reynolds played the titular character, and Lively was his love interest, Carol Ferris. In December 2010, Reynolds and then-wife Scarlett Johansson announced the end of their marriage—just two months after news broke that Lively split from her Gossip Girl co-star and on-screen boyfriend, Penn Badgley.

"Honestly, it was kind of one of those silly sort of ... like out of a fairy tale," the 44-year-old actor added. "Like a week later, I was like, 'We should buy a house together.' And we did.”

The couple have three daughters together: six-year-old James, four-year-old Inez and one-year-old Betty.

The 33-year-old actress proved the playful nature of her relationship with Reynolds hasn’t waned by.
