The door to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 has been opened to Silk Sonic.
The new funk/R&B duo comprised of Bruno Mars and Anderson .Paak notched its first No. 1 hit with "Leave the Door Open," Billboard announced Monday:

The song drew 21.5 million U.S. streams (up 13%) and sold 28,600 copies (up 138%), in the week ending April 8. It also attracted 59.1 million radio airplay audience impressions (up 9%) in the week ending April 11.

"Leave the Door Open," out March 5, is Silk Sonic's debut single:
This feat marks Mars' eight time overall topping the Hot 100, while it's a first of .Paak. Mars' solo No. 1 smashes are as follows:

Mars hadn't had a No. 1 hit since 2016's "That's What I Like," which claimed three victories at the 60th Annual Grammy Awards as best R&B song, best R&B performance and song of the year. The 35-year-old also won best rap album (24K Magic), album of the year (24K Magic) and record of the year ("24K Magic") that night.
