Athletes, and more importantly, basketball players, found themselves divided when Kendrick Lamar and Drake began their beef. From Kevin Durant to LeBron James, almost every major basketball player has at one point or another given an interview where they were asked about taking sides in the beef. Now, Stephen Curry reveals he had made his choice on that all along.

In a recent interview with Speedy Morman from Complex Sports, Curry spoke about his relationship with Drake, describing it as "a family thing" between them, and why he was particularly bothered by the song 'Not Like Us' before the Paris Olympics last year.

"We go way back, though, and it's actually kind of a family thing too. One of Ayesha's cousins is from Toronto, and she's from Toronto and the whole deal. So, we're all in the same boat," said Curry while addressing his history with Drake.

He was later asked to address a viral video that caught his frustrations with the song. Curry revealed it was partly due to how many times he had heard the song and partly due to his friendship with Drake.

"Everywhere we went, it was all I heard. And, the fact that they know who I was with. You can't do nothing about what the DJ's playing. But I was like, I got sick of it at a certain point. It's funny the cameras caught me because that was from the soul."

This video went viral after Team USA beat Serbia in an exhibition game in Las Vegas before heading to Paris for the Olympics.

"Damn with this song," Curry is seen exclaiming in the video. "It's not the only song in America,"  said Curry as LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and other members of Team USA chuckled at his frustration.

More recently, LeBron James came under fire from celebrities like Adin Ross and Drake's fans for his viral video where he was partying and vibing to 'Not Like Us' almost a year after the beef started. Despite sources justifying the Lakers star's actions saying he is not taking sides, fans still seemed unhappy with him.

Drake and LeBron James also had a close personal relationship, but the rapper seems to have cut ties with the King. He had a tattoo on his left arm of LeBron James, which reports claim he has now covered since the beef with Lamar, and replaced with a tattoo of Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

Therefore, it is evident that Stephen Curry wants to clarify his loyalties in public, probably so that he can avoid any criticism like LeBron James is facing now.
