After what feels like 84 years, Stranger Things 5 finally gave us the things we so desperately needed. During Netflix’s 2025 TUDUM event, we got to find out more about this beloved show’s fifth and final season, which is indeed airing in 2025 in THREE parts. (More on that later.) And, the trailer for Stranger Things 5 promises an emotional ending that will honor the past and bring this ongoing fight in Hawkins to an end.
The clip itself acts like a two-parter, with Joyce Byers taking center stage in the first half. She does a current voiceover reflecting on all the trails and trauma of the first four seasons. We take a trip down memory lane to see Will, Mike, Dustin, Lucas, Eleven, Max, Nancy, Hopper, and, well, everyone else as a reminder of what’s happened. We even see poor Eddie, who deserved so much better.
The Stranger Things 5 trailer then drops the release date schedule, with Volume 1 coming November 26, Volume 2 on December 25, and the finale on New Year’s Eve, all at 5PM PT. So, if you don’t wanna be spoiled, plan on spending your holidays watching Stranger Things 5. Maybe you can hang up string lights over letters just like Joyce did in season one.
The back half of the Stranger Things 5 trailer is where the goodness comes in. It’s brief and doesn’t give away plot details but it does hint at some scary stuff happening. We see everyone watching Hawkins on fire, new looks at the gnarly Upside Down, and Will screaming “run” like a young man about to lose his grip on sanity.
We also get a closer look at new images from Stranger Things 5:
