The Daughter of M. Night Shyamalan Makes Her Directorial Debut

The daughter of M. Night Shyamalan, Ishana Shyamalan, is making her feature directorial debut with The Watchers.

Adapted from A. M. Shine's novel of the same name, the film follows a young artist stranded in an extensive, immaculate forest in western Ireland, where, after finding shelter, she becomes trapped alongside three strangers, stalked by mysterious creatures each night.

Dakota Fanning plays the lead, Mina, and is joined by fellow cast members Georgina Campbell, Olwen Fouéré, Siobhan Hewlett and Alistair Brammer.

Having directed six episodes of the TV Series Servant, 22-year-old Ishana Shyamalan now transfers her skills to a feature-length story, both written and directed by her.

Warner Bros has released the first teaser for The Watchers, which is both poetic and haunting.

Produced by M. Night Shyamalan alongside executive producers Stephen Dembitzer and Jo Homewood, The Watchers will hit theaters on June 7.
