Nosferatu’ star Bill Skarsgård recently revealed his interest in portraying iconic comic book characters, including both Batman and The Joker. The actor is known for his chilling transformations and memorable portrayal of Pennywise the Clown in ‘IT’.

So, supernatural, superhuman roles aren’t a new thing for him. Whether as Batman, The Joker, or an entirely different character, Skarsgard’s involvement would undoubtedly bring a unique energy to the DCU.

Bill Skarsgård Spoke To ‘The Brave And The Bold’ Director About His Role

While on the HappySadPodcast, Bill Skarsgård shared that he has spoken to director Andy Muschietti about the upcoming DCU movie ‘The Brave and the Bold’. The actor made it clear that he is very much interested in portraying iconic comic book roles.

While Skarsgard confirmed that he had Muschietti, he stopped short of confirming any specific role. “I’ve talked to Andy, but I’m not sure where he’s at with it,” Skarsgard said. Muschietti is set to helm the upcoming Batman project under James Gunn‘s newly minted DC Universe. Moreover, Bill’s history with Muschietti makes him a natural candidate for a part.

This revelation has fueled speculation about whether Skarsgard could join the DC Universe, sparking excitement among fans who have long debated his potential to embody Gotham’s most famous faces. Additionally, Skarsgard’s reputation for playing dark, complex characters precedes him, and his work in films like ‘IT’ and ‘Nosferatu’ has solidified his place as a master of the macabre.

Bill Skarsgård Wants to Play Either The Batman Or The Joker

When asked if he would consider a comic book movie role, Bill Skarsgård didn’t hesitate to express his interest. “There’s a pretty cool Joker in me, and it would be very sick,” he stated with a hopeful grin. Fans have long imagined Skarsgard as The Joker.

They believe his unnerving charisma and ability to dive into the psyche of deranged characters makes him a perfect fit. However, the actor surprised many by suggesting he’d also be open to playing Batman. “Why not both?” Skarsgard jo joked. Unlike with The Joker, the notion of him as Batman is certainly unconventional.

People are used to seeing him in villainous roles. However, with his versatility any role is possible. While The Joker seems like a natural fit, Batman would represent a more challenging, unexpected choice. “I like exploring extremes, and playing someone like Batman would push me in a different direction,” he hinted during the podcast.
