Tom Felton is reprising the role of Draco in 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' on Broadway

The ATM that is the "Harry Potter" franchise (even that third "Fantastic Beasts" movie doubled up its $200-million budget) continues apace. There's the new HBO series, which recently cast the main kids, but don't forget about the stage. "Harry Potter and the Cursed Child" opened on Broadway in 2018, and it's still going strong. Soon, a new cast member will be joining the Broadway cast, but he's also a familiar face: Tom Felton.

Felton will be playing Draco Malfoy in "Cursed Child." Now, if you are unfamiliar with the play, you may be wondering how that is feasible since "Cursed Child" takes place 19 years after the action in the "Harry Potter" books. In fact, in Felton's statement regarding taking on the role, he noted that he is the exact age that Malfoy is in the play. He called this a "full-circle moment," and we can't think of a more-apropos phrasing than that.

Broadway goers will be able to catch Felton for a 19-week run between November 11 and March 22, 2026. Of course, you'd have to be in New York, and also be able to afford tickets to "Cursed Child," but maybe both of those things are a feasible reality for you. Regardless, it's interesting conceptually that Felton is stepping into the role that will always define his career, but now as an adult. Also, on the stage. This is his Broadway debut as well. Now we just need a Weird Al jukebox musical and to get Felton's "Harry Potter" costar Daniel Radcliffe to reprise that particular role.
