The Greek Goddess of Earth, Gaea, is revealed to be the true font of creation during the Chaos War featuring Hercules. As important as she is in Greek mythology, Marvel has also given her equal importance and power, which lies in life and resurrection. That power remains pretty much inexhaustible as long as there is still life. If things continue to succeed, she functions normally.

Gaea took the form of a woman named Jored and entered into a relationship with Odin. Hence, she is believed to be the biological mother of Thor. Gaea is not known to be a fighter, but instead, she functions on a much larger, cosmic scale, balancing the life of the entire universe on her shoulders.

The King of Asgard, Odin, is the god of utmost importance in the realm of Midgard. He first appeared in Journey of Mystery#84 written by Stan Lee and Larry Leiber. After taking over his brother’s strength, Odin became tenfold powerful, but he used this new position wisely.

Odin is stern, cruel, and brash, with superior qualities that helped them succeed as a well-established ruler. His reign is driven by tactical thinking instead of conscience, which makes him an effective and sustainable ruler. The Odinforce passed to Thor when he became the King of Asgard.

8. Surtur

Surtur is the fire demon who is the most powerful and evil threat in Norse mythology. He is depicted as a traditional Devil, having two horns with a pitchfork, but on a massive level, making him the most intimidating villain of the Marvel Universe. He first appeared in Journey into Mystery written by Stan Lee, who was destined to bring wrath over Ragnarok.

Surtur proved to be powerful many times over by nearly destroying Asgard and Midgard. He also burned everything in the Nine Realms by using his city of Muspelheim along with the energies of the Manchester Gods. He is quite undefeatable.

7. Galactus

Galactus is a cosmic entity whose sustenance comes from devouring planets. Yes, take that into account. He travels through Marvel’s multiverse searching for living worlds he can consume. This mighty being doesn’t even spare his own heralds.

The merging of the Sentience of the Universe and the explorer Galan gave birth to Galactus. Since his debut in Fantastic Four #48, created by Stan Lee, he has also weilded the Ultimate Nullifier – a great cosmic weapon that can rip universes apart.

Sure, he rose from the “beyond,” but since his first appearance in Secret Wars #1, written by Jim Shooter, he has reinvented reality for both heroes and villains. The reason behind his action is to pit good against evil.

Some retcons limited The Beyonder’s original powers, but he is still an other-dimensional God-like entity with the ability to alter realities and universes.

5. Death

Across all mythologies, Death is known to be immortal and the most powerful being. She cannot be defeated and has the ability to alter time, reality, and space. She takes the form of a hooded female skeleton who draws power from all the souls who died across space and time. Just imagine the kind of power that brings.

Death also possesses the ability to bring the dead back to life, and has revived characters like Deadpool and Scarlet Spider-Man, both out of curiosity and love. Unlike in the DC comics, Marvel portrays Death as negative and destructive, who controls Thanos to carry out her evil activities.

4. The Living Tribunal

The Living Tribunal is responsible for maintaining a balance between good and evil in the Marvel Multiverse. This Marvel God has the power to destroy the world if he thinks that will help restore the mystical balance. Of course, it’s a tough job to oversee everything, but the entity does it without any personal hope of gain.

First seen in Strange Tales written by Jim Steranko, The Living Tribunal possesses the face of three distinct individuals – equality, necessity, and retribution. All these faces come together while making a decision for the cosmic balance.

3. Oblivion

When the Marvel Multiverse was born, an abstract entity named Oblivion came into existence. He made his first appearance in Iceman #1, written by J. M. DeMattis. Oblivion’s true purpose is to stop the expansion of the universe as a symbol of non-existence.

Oblivion chose a Maelstrom, an Inhuman or Deviant hybrid, to serve as his avatar. Why? Simply to assist them in destroying the universe. Oblivion got into a battle with Quasar- Infinity’s avatar, which led to the involvement of Infinity, Death, and Eternity to create a pact that would pervade the peace of the universe. Unfortunately, Oblivion broke the pact and brought destruction to the universe.

2. Fulcrum

Fulcrum is a god veiled in mystique. But make no mistake, he is the guardian of equilibrium for the Marvel universe we know and love. He keeps an eye on the Celestials, the Horde, and the Watchers.  

Fulcrum is omnipotent and omniscient, keeping the balance between creation and destruction of the planets from behind the scenes. He is not to be trifled with since he has the power to judge the fate of the fallen worlds. In fact, he is the entity behind The Vestibule, which serves as a Limbo for the Eternals.

The One Above All is the equivalent of the Bible’s Abraham, who created the entire Marvel Multiverse. He is known to be the sole individual to have power over the Living Tribunal, and he even built one when the original Tribunal passed away. His first appearance was in the Fantastic Four #511 edition, written by Mark Waid.
