As the New York Yankees seek rotation help ahead of the July 31 trade deadline, one excellent option may already be out as Texas Rangers pitcher Mike Minor has the Yankees on his 10-team no-trade list. Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic adds that the rest of Minor’s list is not known and that it is unclear if he included the Yankees for leverage or because he does not want to play in New York.
Minor, 31, who has an 8-5 record with a glowing 2.86 ERA this season, is one of the most coveted starters on the trade market this year. He is also a 2019 All-Star and a left-hander on a team that is probably going nowhere this season, making him particularly in demand.
A Minor trade is said to be “increasingly likely” with multiple other interested parties emerging specifically, but it appears that the Yankees will have to look elsewhere for an upgrade.
