On August 23, 2024, Shohei Ohtani entered a prestigious club for baseball players.

As the Dodgers entered the game against the Tampa Bay Rays, Ohtani needed just one more home run and one more stolen base to become just the sixth player in history to have achieved entering the club of producing 40 for each category in a single season.

The fourth inning is when Ohtani secured the stolen base portion as he secured it after hitting an infield single. It wasn’t until dramatic fashion in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded that Ohtani would go on to secure the home run portion. Ohtani’s grand slam not only helped him enter the 40-40 club, but also for the Dodgers to win the game 7-3. To make it even better, this was Ohtani’s first walk-off home run of his career.
