The 'MLB Live Ball Era strikeout leaders' quiz

Happy 54th birthday to three-time Cy Young winner, five-time ERA champion, 1999 pitching Triple Crown winner and World Series champion, Pedro Martinez!

Martinez pitched in 18 Major League seasons, striking out at least 200 batters in nine of those and becoming one of 15 pitchers to reach 300 strikeouts in multiple campaigns. His lone World Series title came in 2004, when the Boston Red Sox famously rallied from down 3-0 in the ALCS against the New York Yankees to eventually win their first championship since 1918 and end “The Curse of the Bambino.”

Which brings us to today’s quiz. Martinez’s 3,154 career strikeouts are the 14th-most in MLB’s Live Ball Era (since 1920). With that being said, can you name every MLB pitcher with at least 2,500 strikeouts in their career?

Good luck!
