The Golden State Warriors are one win away from sweeping the Dallas Mavericks out of the 2022 Western Conference Finals. The Mavs had a fairy-tale journey to get here, coming from below .500 in December to storm the top four of the West by the end of the season.

The Mavs came back from a 2-0 deficit against the league-leading Phoenix Suns, a team many expected to be the top contender in the West. That series win for the Mavericks caused many to crown Luka Doncic as the top point guard in the NBA after his historic performances saw him be the single-most dominant player on the court

Steph Curry has been the best point guard in the NBA for years and has proven why he holds that title in the WCF against Dallas. It seems media titles like 'best PG in the league' don't motivate Steph anymore, according to teammate Draymond Green:

"What's the difference in Steph? Is he more motivated because people were saying Luka is now the point guard in the NBA? Does that motivate him? Luka is an incredible player, I'm not sure Steph had heard that because I hadn't heard anyone go 'oh it's the changing of the guard' or 'Luka is now the point guard of the NBA'. I hadn't heard any of that talk. I don't pay attention to any of that, so I can't say that motivated Steph Curry. What I know for certain motivates Steph Curry is that this is Year 3 of us having not been in the Finals... Not playing in the Finals for two straight years, losing in the play-in last year, we're back and we're healthy. That's enough motivation in itself."

Steph Curry is a winner and his NBA career has proven it. He definitely wasn't looking forward to being in the Conference Finals just so he could send a message by being better than Doncic. A title speaks for itself, and that is what this Warriors team has locked in on.

The championship experience is oozing on the court as GSW looks set to make another run in the NBA Finals unless Doncic does something that's never been done before and leads the Mavs to come back from 3-0 down.
