Jay-Z and Denzel Washington starred in a curious moment during a Los Angeles Lakers game earlier this week, with the former trying to calm down the latter as he was involved in a heated exchange courtside.

Jay-Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, was trying to get Denzel calmed after he was going at it with somebody on the sidelines. The rapper is a total legend as an artist and businessman, but that doesn't mean he forgets about his friends and leaves them alone when they're going through rough things.

That's what happened with Denzel, who sat courtside during LeBron James' record-breaking game against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Tuesday, and he was seemingly upset with somebody.

Things were apparently set to get worse, but Carter intervened and prevented his friend from getting into a bigger altercation. A video shows Denzel barking at somebody and even when Jay approaches him to take him away from the action, Washington isn't feeling any of that.

Fortunately, the "Training Day" star came to his senses and went to look for Carter, laughing and hugging Carter. It's unclear what led to that situation, but Carter was ready to pour water into that fire.

This game was full of stars, as LeBron James broke the all-time scoring record set by Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in 1984. The King took over against the Oklahoma City Thunder, dropping 38 points to break this record and add another huge milestone to his impressive resume.

Unfortunately, the Lakers lost that game, but every fan in attendance witnessed history, as LeBron added one more chapter to his successful career. Carter and Washington have witnessed incredible moments during their lives and have met incredible legends, like Washington with Michael Jordan, somebody he tried to get drunk before a game against his loved Lakers.

This was an incredible moment, and it seems like everything happening on the court with LeBron and off the court with Washington and Carter, was full of magic.
