Kyrie Irving has a deep passion for basketball. That is the reason he keeps striving for greatness on the court as his Dallas Mavericks look to fight for championships.
He will not be a part of their campaign initially, as he is still recovering from the ACL tear he suffered in March. It will take him a while before he can return to the court.
As per the usual recovery timeline, many expect the superstar point guard to play next March. That gives him enough time to focus on his body, his family, and other things that interest him.
Known for speaking his mind, especially on matters that most people would not bring up in a conversation, the Duke standout has channeled that through his streams. On one of his most recent streams, he was talking about what excites him as a basketball player. Then, he went on to detail the goals he has set for his life after basketball.
I’m building towards becoming one of the biggest farmers ever…I want to be able to supply food and groceries to the world in the best way I can. I want to be able to supply food and groceries to the world in the best way I can and create small holistic wellness villages, where people can retire, people can give birth.

The 33-year-old also mentioned that he is trying to connect with farmers, agriculture experts, and specialists who can help him understand how to grow food. He is working towards his goal and needs the help of others to get there.
Irving currently plays for the Dallas Mavericks and is looking to fight for another championship once he returns from injury. The only time he won a championship, was with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
One of his former teammates, Kendrick Perkins, is an analyst on ESPN. At other times, he joins some of his friends to talk on their podcast, Road Trippin’. In their last major episode, Irving’s farming dreams became a topic.
Perkins’ co-host and another former teammate of Irving’s, Channing Frye, was praising the point guard’s dedication to his diet and what he is looking to do for the world. At this point, the former center chimed in.
Now, if you want to learn how to farm, just come holler at me. I will show him how to grow cucumbers, tomatoes. I will show him how to kill a chicken in 30 minutes, have it ready to cook.

Kyrie Irving is currently on a plant-based diet, and might not want to know how to kill a chicken. But growing cucumbers and tomatoes might interest him enough to take a trip and meet up with his former teammate.
The Dallas Mavericks have built a team ready to compete for the NBA championship. Cooper Flagg fell into their lap, and they happily added him to their roster, hoping he could be that additional spark.
But they need Kyrie Irving‘s leadership and play on the court when the postseason comes around. In the playoffs, it is all hands on deck, and a contender will need all the help they can get.
I was in the gym doing a little bit more. I won’t tell you what exactly what I was doing, cause it’s all about incremental growth. But, I can share it with y’all that it was some good days in the gym. I’m healing up great.

This was the nine-time All-Star’s update on August 26th. It marks nearly 5 months since his ACL tear. If he is recovering faster than usual, as he suggested, the point guard could be back by January at the earliest. That will be great news for the Mavericks.
