LeBron James On Latest Steph Curry Matchup: ‘Utmost Respect’
Petre Thomas-USA TODAY Sports

In a shocking turn of events, the NBA postseason has been filled with upsets. The Miami Heat started it off by knocking off the Milwaukee Bucks, followed by a pair of experienced teams in the Western Conference.

Over the weekend, the Golden State Warriors found themselves in a win-or-go-home matchup with the Sacramento Kings. With their season on the line, Steph Curry did everything he could to make sure the defending champs advance to the next round. The end result was the two-time MVP erupting for 50 points and setting a new record for points scored in a Game 7.

Next up for the Warriors is a meeting with LeBron James and the LA Lakers. A familiar foe that they know all too well from his time with the Cleveland Cavaliers.

As he prepares for round two, LeBron was asked his thoughts about squaring off against Curry in the playoffs yet again. Despite all their battles on the game’s biggest stage, the Lakers star has nothing but respect for him.

“When you put in the work, 9 times out of 10, you’re gonna see results—and he’s done that his whole entire career,” James told reporters Monday.

“I have nothing but the utmost respect for Steph and everything he’s been able to accomplish, not only on the floor but off the floor also. It’s great to have people like that in this league setting an example for the generation to come.”

Even in this stage of their respective careers, NBA fans are greatly anticipating this matchup. As two of the game’s greatest talents, there is no telling if it will be the last time they battle it out in the postseason.

Seeing that both teams are fully focused on winning a title this season, it should be a series that lives up to the hype.
