Patrick Beverley Offered Up A Legendary Quote About LeBron
Brad Rempel-USA TODAY Sports

Just because Patrick Beverley is now playing alongside LeBron James and Anthony Davis of the Los Angeles Lakers, it doesn’t mean he will stop saying heated, controversial things about them.

For years now, Beverley has been known as one of the most outrageous and in-your-face trash-talkers in the league.

And, yes, he has talked smack about James, Davis, and the Lakers many times.

You’d think maybe he’d reel that in now that he’s in LA but you’d be wrong.

He was talking to reporters the other day and someone said, “You’ll be playing with LeBron James and Anthony Davis.”

Beverley shot back quickly, “They’re gonna be playing with me. I made the playoffs last year, they didn’t. It’s a difference.”

It’s a pretty low blow but you can’t argue with Beverley.

He is totally right: he was the one who made the postseason last year while both James and Davis watched from home.

Beverley Bringing It

Fans of the Lakers are becoming more and more comfortable with the idea of Beverley playing for the team.

At first, some weren’t sure how he would fit in or what he would do to the team’s chemistry and culture.

But the more they see him and the more they hear him speak of his new team, the more the LA faithful are liking him.

Say what you want about him but Beverley seems very committed to playing hard and motivating his team.

That could be a huge benefit for the Lakers, who have been lacking toughness and motivation.

If the Lakers turn things around in the upcoming season thanks to Beverley’s work, followers of the team will gladly forget about all the trash talk he’s said over the years.
