Stephen Curry had a very good night on Monday, torching the Denver Nuggets and leading his Golden State Warriors to a 116-107 win that saw the point guard becoming the all-time scoring leader in Warriors history. Curry went off with 53 points, surpassing the 17,783 Wilt Chamberlain scored during his time with the team.

It was a very good night for him and his team, who beat the inspired Nuggets. After the match, Curry was very happy and he couldn’t hide his excitement after reaching yet another milestone in his honored career. With 1.40 minutes left in the first quarter, Curry made a layup that sealed the deal for him. He explained he’s not going to slow down but made it clear he’ll take some time to appreciate this moment.

“This is special, man. Now that we got the win, and I can kind of process what just happened. These last few years, all the teammates that I’ve played with, coaching staff, our ownership, our fans, I’ve had some amazing experiences here. To know the points record, anytime you hear his name you always just assume that his record is unreachable.”

He admitted that playing more years than Chamberlain with the Warriors had a lot to do with him breaking the record but still was happy that his name will be part of yet another record for the franchise.

“I did play extra years here, I guess, but it still means something to be at the top of that list. I’m forever grateful to everyone that has supported me to let me do what I get to do on the court, my family. I don’t plan on slowing down, but this is one to kind of take a second and appreciate.”

He was congratulated by his teammates, even sharing a big moment with Draymond Green, one of his closest friends on the roster.

It was a very good night for Steph and his Warriors, who improved their record to 26-28, still trying to make it to the 2021 NBA playoffs. He finished the game with 53 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists for the Dubs.
