If New Orleans Pelicans rookie Jaxson Hayes came into the night still upset about being snubbed from the NBA’s Rising Stars Game, he just took all his frustrations out on the rim with an epic put-back slam.

After teammate J.J. Redick’s three-point attempt bounced off the rim, Hayes came flying in with his 6-foot-11 frame to grab it out of the sky with one hand and then threw it down for the dramatic finish.

We’re used to seeing Zion Williamson stun everyone in the stadium with a jaw-dropping slam, but it’s his fellow rookie teammate that showed off his athleticism tonight. The dunk was utterly absurd and Redick’s reaction of pure shock makes the moment even more amazing.

While Hayes didn’t receive the recognition he deserved with a trip to All-Star Weekend, dunks like this will put him on the national spotlight.
