Michael Balko tweeted out that he has spoken with many people in the Packers organization about Rodgers’ retirement. He said that Rodgers “made it clear” that this was his last season in the NFL. If this is true, this is massive news for the Packers. There was some hope with his new contract that he would stick around for at least a couple of years but the organization is preparing for him to retire after 2022. This puts more urgency on winning another Super Bowl with a Hall of Fame quarterback like Rodgers.

There are many implications if Rodgers decides to hang it up after this season. There is the financial side of it but mostly, we would finally get to see the start of the Jordan Love era.
