Cody Latimer was arrested and charged with three felonies and two misdemeanors after an altercation Saturday morning. Now, more troubling information has emerged centered around the events of that incident.

On Monday at his hearing, Latimer’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, shared some additional information.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter and John Keim collaborated on the report:

“At the hearing, Latimer’s attorney, Harvey Steinberg, told the court that he has been contacted by law enforcement concerning an investigation of a sexual assault of Latimer’s 4-year-old son that was allegedly perpetrated by one of the individuals at that poker game.”

Prior to being arrested, Latimer allegedly got into an altercation with one of the people at the poker game. His friend, Roderick English, was hosting the event. After Latimer’s altercation with the other person, English told police he kicked everyone out of his apartment.

Roughly 30 minutes later, Latimer showed back up. He accused English of being responsible for the altercation. Then, he pulled his gun out and said he saved two bullets — one for English and one for his girlfriend. Then, he allegedly threatened to “kill everyone” before calming down at one point.

Afterward, Latimer allegedly got upset once more, then shot the gun twice. English said he pinned Latimer against the wall before being hit on the top of the head by the gun Latimer was holding.

Latimer was arrested afterward. He was released from the Douglas County Jail on $25,000 bond.

A former second-round pick, Latimer played four seasons with the Denver Broncos. He then spent two seasons with the New York Giants. This offseason, he signed a free-agency deal with the Washington Redskins.
