Best current (or most recent) NFL players by state

The popularity of football spans all 50 states. In fact, there has been at least one NFL player from every state in the country. Yes, even Alaska and Hawaii, if you can believe it.

Of course, we know certain states like California, Florida, Texas, Pennsylvania and Ohio are loaded with professional football talent, which brings about the debate of who is the best player from each state.

Here, we provide the best current (or most recent) NFL player by state according to the players' places of birth.

BONUS: Washington, D.C.: Andrew Luck, QB

OK, Washington, D.C. is not technically a state, but we'd be remiss if we didn't mention that the nation's capital also represents the NFL. Andrew Luck is the best of the bunch presently, though recent injuries have his status to start 2017 up in the air. Still, the first overall pick of the 2012 NFL Draft has already made three Pro Bowls and began his career with three straight 11-5 seasons. If he can stay healthy, most expect Luck to have quite a long and productive career. His Indy teammate Vontae Davis and his older brother Vernon, currently with Washington, were also born in D.C.
