Of course, that’s dependent on the team receiving its asking price for the 25-year-old stud defensive end. It was previously reported that Jacksonville was demanding a first-round pick in a trade for its franchise-tagged star.
Now comes this note from ESPN’s Jordan Raanan indicating that Jacksonville’s asking price is more than that.
That seems to be too much of an ask at this point in the offseason. Jacksonville will not want to repeat the same mistake Houston made last offseason when it waited until after the draft to trade Jadeveon Clowney. This led to the Texans receiving pennies on the dollar.
If the Jags can scrape together a first-round pick for Ngakoue, they shouldn’t even think twice about it. He wants out of dodge. This issue is not going to die down the closer we get to the annual NFL Draft.
Among the teams interested in Ngakoue, the Seattle Seahawks have been bandied about the most. Though, he’s also been linked to the Green Bay Packers, Philadelphia Eagles and New York Jets.
