Sunday has showcased a young Perine and older Frank Gore running it to great success.
The Jets, with Mekhi Becton back in the lineup, are running it at a 5.7 clip (15 carries, 70 yards). Gore has gone for 37 yards on seven carries (5.3 yards per carry) while Perine has carried it eight times for 83 yards.
After making it 10-0, the team’s largest lead of the season, the Bills came back for three points courtesy of a Tyler Bass 53-yard field goal.
The good news doesn’t stop at Perine. Rookie Denzel Mims is also enjoying a nice day (his first in the NFL). Sam Darnold, who looks improved since we last saw him, has connected with Mims for 42 yards on four receptions, which leads the way for the team.
3rd and 20? No problem.

On the other side, Josh Allen hasn’t found much room downfield. Other than his 48 yards rushing, nothing much has gone right. The Wyoming product is currently boasting a 12 of 20 for 129 yards box score line.
Bass connected on a 48-yard field goal to close the first half. The Jets lead the Bills 10-6.
