Detroit Lions running back Kerryon Johnson offered a great quote about playing professional football for a living.

Johnson was enjoying a strong rookie season last year before missing the final six games with a knee injury. He is looking forward to his second season in the NFL and knows he needs to put in the work and avoid hitting the wall. He’s not worried about his training because he says his job is fun.

“You’re having a lot of fun," Johnson said, via ESPN’s Michael Rothstein. "I get to come to work in sweatpants and shirts. I get to go out and play a game that I’ve been playing since I’ve been 5 years old.

“I get to go home, and I get to come back and do it all again. I don’t have to sit in a cubicle. I don’t got to do no spreadsheets, no nothing.”

Johnson, a second-round pick out of Auburn, rushed for 641 yards and three touchdowns, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. He added 213 receiving yards and a receiving TD. Just how big of a factor was he? He gave the Lions their first 100-yard rusher in a game since 2013 — and he actually did it twice.

The Lions will be in good hands with someone like him.
