Mina Kimes: Ravens should call WR Odell Beckham Jr.

Add the Baltimore Ravens to the list of teams linked with free-agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. this fall.

NFL insider Mina Kimes said during Thursday's edition of ESPN's "NFL Live" program that Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta should reach out to Beckham sooner rather than later.

"Here's what I would do if I was Ravens GM Eric DeCosta: I would pick up my phone and say 'Hi, OBJ? We'll give you whatever you want to come join this football team.' Because they need him," Kimes explained, as shared by Tzvi Machlin of The Spun.

The first-place Ravens have won two straight and three of their last four to improve to 5-3 heading into the upcoming "Monday Night Football" showdown at the 3-5 New Orleans Saints. However, ESPN stats show that Baltimore's passing attack ranks 26th in the league and is averaging 193.8 yards per game.

As for Beckham, New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen said Wednesday he's been in contact with representatives for the three-time Pro Bowl selection who turns 30 years old on November 5. Also on Wednesday, Buffalo Bills general manager Brandon Beane made it known he'd "look into" signing OBJ.

The Los Angeles Rams, Beckham's most recent club, along with the San Francisco 49ers, Green Bay Packers, Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys have all been mentioned as potential landing spots for who has become the league's hottest available commodity following the trade deadline that passed on Tuesday afternoon.

Perhaps the two biggest questions regarding Beckham's services pertain to his asking price and when he'll be cleared to return from the torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee he suffered during Super Bowl LVI in February. Timelines for when Beckham could again face live defenses have varied from as early as the middle of this month to some point in mid-to-late December.
