Cleveland Browns running back Quinshon Judkins left Week 8’s loss to the New England Patriots with a shoulder injury and did not return. However, it appears he avoided a serious injury, as head coach Kevin Stefanski says he’s day-to-day. Seeing as the Browns have a Week 9 bye, he probably won’t miss a game

Quinshon Judkins Injury Update: Browns RB’s Status Revealed

Quinshon Judkins has been nothing short of phenomenal throughout the 2025 season, but the New England Patriots kept him in check even before the injury occurred. The defense sold out to stop Judkins, and the rookie finished the night with just nine carries for 19 yards to go along with three receptions for negative two yards.

In his absence, fellow rookie Dylan Sampson saw most of the work, although it’s difficult to say if this trend would continue in a more neutral game script. The Patriots blew the game open in the third quarter and forced the Browns into a pass-heavy offense. In total, Sampson recorded three carries for zero yards while adding five catches for 29 yards. Veteran Jerome Ford, meanwhile, finished the night with one reception for negative one yard and didn’t record a single carry.

Prior to his injury, Quinshon Judkins had been one of the few bright spots on a Browns offense that largely cannot get out of their own way. While contract issues forced him to miss the first game of the season, the Ohio State product immediately earned the starting job, and he never looked back. Prior to the Patriots game, the rookie recorded 467 rushing yards and five touchdowns on 109 attempts while adding another nine receptions for 62 yards in the receiving game. The advanced metrics paint a similar picture, as his 77.3 PFF grade entering the contest was the ninth-best mark out of 54 eligible players.
