Oilers set to be well represented at the 2027 World Juniors
There is a chance that we could see three Edmonton Oilers prospects take to the ice at Rogers Place and the Marchant Crane Centrium this winter. While there are still four months left until World Juniors action really begins to ramp up, projected lineups are starting to become public ahead of the 2026-27 major junior hockey seasons.

It’s been nothing short of a steady climb for Asher Barnett in terms of his development as a young player. Selected by the Edmonton Oilers in the fifth round of the 2026 draft after the team traded up, the left-shot defenceman went to the NCAA’s University of Michigan last season, scoring five goals and 18 points in 40 games.
