A familiar face is returning to Alberta. On Tuesday, the Calgary Flames announced that Dave Lowry has been hired as the team’s new assistant coach. The team announced that former assistant Brad Larsen will not be returning to the team due to family reasons.

Lowry, 60, returns to the Flames for his second tour of duty as an assistant, having previously served in that capacity with the club from 2009 to 2012 under head coach Brent Sutter.
